Admin Console 3.0 has been released!

Highlights Include: General Changes Input fields for Groups, Collections, and Genres now have an auto-complete feature so as you begin to enter terms, matches will be displayed for selection. Instead of putting media into Groups, media assets should now be added to Collections. This will allow you to control the play order of the media more precisely. Groups are still the means in which media will be shared with other partners, but partners will now share Collections containing media with a group rather than sharing the media directly with the group. Media Assets An important addition to managing media assets is the ability to sort and filter videos by plays. This new feature will allow you to see the “most popular” videos in your assets. Search and filtering are now integrated so that the filters that you apply affect search results. You can add multiple terms to a given filter and then use “AND” “OR” and “NOT” to fine tune results. You can also save a search/sort/filter result as a dynamic Collection. This allows you to return quickly and easily to common views of your media either for management purposes or to scope the dynamic Collection into a player widget to play continuously updated media content on your websites. Network We have streamlined the process of utilizing shared media. The Network tab now includes a search feature along with more filter options, making it easier to locate shared media in which you might be interested. Additionally, steps to select and confirm media have been streamlined. Groups Panels for managing groups have been consolidated so that you can perform all group related activities on one list. Pending group invitations will display at the top of the list. After accepting an invitation, you can decide how you want shared media to be added, either directly usable in your Media Assets or available for you to select in the Network List. Manage Collections. Collections are now the preferred way to organize your media assets for easy management. Assets can be organized, using a folder metaphor, by putting several collections into a “container” Collection for classification purposes. You will also be able to see collections that have been shared by other partners on the “Manage Collections” screen. You can set the order of individual media in a Collection or the order of a set of Collections within a container Collection. You can also change the hierarchical structure of a Collection using a drag and drop feature. Known Issues: It may take up to 15 minutes for media filters to show updates to media, or for shared media to appear in your media assets list. Collection details only display the first 250 items in them without pagination. If you want to better manage media in a specific Collection, you must execute it from the media assets list. Admin Console is optimized for IE7 and FF 2.0 or higher. If you are using IE6, you might experience slower performance - we recommend updating your browser. Entering special characters in a form field such as ‘, &, <. >. or html code may result in an inaccurate representation of your data. Shared media currently does not display associated tags. The ‘Owner’ filter in the network tab only displays Collection owners. There may be media from partners with write access in your network list which cannot be filtered by Owner. Manage Collections screen is not sortable. On the Media Assets page, when opening a dialogue window and adding a media asset to a Collection or Genre, you will be taken back to the top of the page once the task has been completed. When adding shared media from the Network tab, you must click the check box and wait for the Asset row to turn blue before Confirming the pending selection.

Admin Console 2.2 has been released!

The Admin Console has been updated to include publication start and end dates as part of the media information. Any media uploaded to VMIX's network can now use a start and end date for publication. If you apply a publication start and/or end date/time to your media, it will only be displayed on your website during that period. This feature is separate from the media status which still has to be set to ‘Active’ in order to be available for display. You can then apply publication start and end date/times to media with the ‘Active’ status to specify the time period for which it will be published on your websites. In addition to new uploads, existing media can be updated in the media details view to add a start or end date/time. This is optional however, and without specifying a start or end date/time, media will continue to display on your website as long as it is set to the ‘Active’ status. This means that you do not have to make any changes to your existing media. Also, you can now filter your media assets by publication date/time. When filtering, you can select a publication date range. Any media that is active within that period will display in the assets list. You can also sort media assets by either publication start or end date and time. Media with no start or end dates will be listed after media that does have a date. KNOWN ISSUES: If you apply Start Publication Dates to media that appears in a widget or template, media will appear sorted in the widget by upload date not publication start date.

Admin Console has been UPDATED

VMIX Admin Console has just been updated on Beta (admin-beta.vmixcore.com). This update will be live on June 5th. Highlights Include: Report A PostNow you can add links on your site to report media or comments by your user community. From the admin console you can either remove offensive items or ignore items that you want to remain active on your site. Widget WizardWe have added a widget wizard so that you can create widget embed code from the admin console. Just choose the widget that you want, enter the customizable options, and grab the code to put on your site or save to a file for later use. Media Management Media now has a thumbnail display which allows you to better viewing without having to go to the details. You can play multiple videos simultaneously if you want to review more than one at a time. You can now choose how many items to display per page and jump directly to a desired page number. Search results are now editable Updated HelpEach screen on the web site now has a help icon in the right hand side of the main navigation bar. Clicking on this icon will open a PDF popup window (make sure you have Adobe Reader installed) with the help linked to whatever section of the site you are looking at. CommentsComments can now be edited for users who are set up with permission to do so. Known Issues: Group and Genre names over 25 characters with no spaces in them will cause display issues. This will be fixed in the next release. Cannot delete sources. This will be fixed in the next release. Shared media in the Network tab will only be displayed in the Network tab. In the next release media that is added from the Network tab will display in the Media Assets list. The only way to remove genres is to uncheck them in the tree view. The tree might not be expanded to show what is underneath. Both of these issues will be fixed in the next release Image and Play Counts are still being debugged and will be fixed as part of this release
